Y’all are basically saying what I’m thinking! (though for me Juno remains the one I don’t dislike, even if I dearly miss the unhealthy-habits mystery-solving version of him) Reconditarmonia replied to your post yes please let's yell about season 3 i think my main takeaway is that everything they tried to do assumed a level of buy-in that i just *did not have* - the episodes about everyone else's problems and tragic backstory when we've barely met them, the godawful "family" thing (that's not what a crime family is!!!) I felt so sorry for Sasha in the finale lol, which was probably not the intent and just, an intimacy that felt unearned, and in fact felt less earned than when we barely saw these characters (specifically, buddy&jet together) it feels claustrophobic i think? i'd love to hear more of yr thoughts i don't even like competence kink all that much, but i hate this sense of like - team infantilization? and bad boundaries, yes.

Idk, the only other angle I could see would be that Sasha intervened on Juno’s behalf, and based on other spoilers I’ve heard that just doesn’t feel likely? Is this anything?Ĭaracalliope replied to yeah, i just had to nope out, i was like, i dislike everyone on this ship except - weirdly - Pete it's very. And he was alone with a dark matters agent for a while before he got rescued, so either they talked to him then, or the sent some kind of message to his bot when the countdown paused? Or maybe dark matters was involved in his debts to begin with? We don’t know who Peter is in debt to, but maybe dark matters was willing to let everyone return to their bodies alive in that moment, promise to take them alive later, and let Peter run away with the less valuable items (I mean, they were willing to incinerate the book like it was nothing just to keep the Aurinkos from getting it anyway) to settle his debts if he’d flip on his allies? Even if he didn’t intend to permanently betray them, in the moment he’d probably take that deal just to get himself, Juno, and Rita out of there alive. (I have a much more angsty theory where he gives them his name as part of a deal, like if whoever he’s talking to days they won’t work with someone they don’t know, he doesn’t have a lot of leverage and he just found out that his name isn’t as safe as he thought, maybe he’d be in a position where he thought giving it up was all he could do to save Juno? He’s risked his name on Juno before, and it would be character development for him to make himself that vulnerable because he went and got attached, I’m just saying, but that feels less likely so I’ll move on) Like, I could imagine a world in which dark matters does the same kind of research on him that Rita did, or maybe just picked up Rita saying his name on accident on some security device, so that would explain him using his real name on the call. Ok maybe this isn’t the hot penumbra take I think it is, and maybe it’ll be disproved by What Lies Beyond, but my first thought at the end of MegaUltrabots of Cyberjustice was what if Peter cut some kind of deal with dark matters at the last minute to save Juno and Rita?
